Storyline

1990

Discovered the joys of creating “art” using MS Paint on my parents’ Dell, zoomed in and coloring scenes and characters pixel by pixel.

1999

Made my first forays into more traditional graphic design, creating flyers to promote friends’ punk bands.

2006

Graduated from Flagler College in beautiful St. Augustine, FL—walked away with my Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design and a couple of artsy minors.

2007

Tried my hand at the family trade—higher ed professorship—as a graduate assistant
in Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Graphic Design, teaching design theory, principles, and applications in introductory and mid-level courses.

2008

Defended my thesis project, completing my MFA in Visual Communication & Design at Virginia Commonwealth University.

2008

Began working as a full-time designer, developing graphics for a variety of printed and digital applications, planning and modeling three-dimensional exhibit spaces, producing and proofreading textual content (as required), and managing exhibit projects.

2014

Started as a designer/art director on an in-house Brand Creative team at Allianz, developing visuals for multi-channel marketing campaigns (Brand, Social, B2B, B2C, B2B2C, HR/Recruiting, etc.), working closely with copywriters and other experts throughout the entire creative process, and helping promote and maintain visual brand standards.

2018

Promoted to Brand Creative Manager, leading a team of skilled designers, balancing my responsibilities as an individual contributor with a dedication to ensuring the growth of my team and their work.

2021

Joined Allianz’s DEI Council to expand my contributions to the company beyond my core role, focusing mainly on planning and developing internal and external communications as well as coordinating internal and external events.

2022

Promoted to Director of Creative Strategy, leading Allianz’s US Brand Creative team comprised of 10+ copywriters, designers, and project managers, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer.
